UP-COMING DATES

Hey guys just wanted to let you know some of the up-coming dates.
Jan3- NO MEETING BECAUSE WE WILL JUST BE GETTING BACK FROM PREDS GAME
Jan17-usually we have no meeting, but we really miss you guys and know that some of the girls are working on service projects, badges, etc and kind of need to meet, so we will be meeting.
This will be a good opportunity for those with cookie questions, etc. I will see if Mrs. Chrisie can be there to address any questions or concerns. I know I will be going over requirements for the Juniors Bronze awards that night with my girls so if your child is a junior and interested, please try to attend.
Jan22- Swim Party in Manchester. I need to know if you plan on coming to this. I have to turn in numbers this Thurs at my meeting with the Service Unit. Remember only registered Girl Scouts and registered adults will be admitted and no add-ons later. I must know now.The cost is going to be FREE!!!!!

May 21 from 9:30am-3pm at Camp Piedmont in Readyville, TN Do you need some community service hours? Volunteer at Camp Piedmont and help us clean trails or other camp areas that need repair. Tools and supplies will be provided. -This is a troop only event. -All participants must be registered Girl Scouts.

I am working on scheduling for the following activities right now and will let you know as soon as we get dates set in stone. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas break and see you guys soon.

Upcoming Dates

December 6- Meeting moved to the rescue squad on Sparta St. Please come earn and patch and help us pack toys for the less fortunate!!! This year to get your patch and credit- bring a NEW toy with you to donate. 6pm
December 7- Christmas in the Park downtown. Come take up donations for the Warren Co. food bank. Those helping will get a special patch for this as well.
December 20- meeting canceled due to holidays
December 30- time to be announced. Falcon Monor Tour and Tea. Come in your Suday best to learn some lessons in manners and tour the historic Falcon Manor. This will also cross over for several age groups badge requirements as well. You will get a manners badge as well as a Falcon Manor badge.
January 2- Nashville Pred game and sleepover leaving Cornerstone at 2pm. $40 per ticket includes, supper, game, patch, sleepover, post game movie, and breakfast. (your money will be refunded after the trip if you went on the May 1st camping trip during the flood. YOU MUST PAY UP FRONT>>>EVEN IF YOURS WILL BE FREE>>>then we will issue refunds to girls who were included in the "flood" trip.This keeps us from paying the predators for girls who are "NO SHOWS". If I don't have your money, you will not get a ticket. The deadline in NOV 15 to get on the list and to pay your fee.
January 3- No regular meeting due to sleepover
January 17-school's out...no meeting

****I have been using text reminders lately and if you are getting texts from us that you do NOT want, please just text me back with the word "REMOVE" the next time I text you and I will remove your name for my text group. This works well for some, but I understand that some do not want to text. ****

Just to make everyone aware....I have been catching up on book work for the last month and half. :)I will be making deposits on the last few checks that i have gotten. If you have wrote me a check since OCT 17- NOV 30, it will be coming out tomorrow or monday probably. Just wanted to let everyone know incase you are like me and don't balance your check book nearly often enough....LOL. I don't like surprises (not money ones anyways) so just want to keep you informed. We have had late reg payments, Disney on Ice Money, Uniforms, Late fall product monies, etc so it takes me awhile to get it all done. They like them in seperate deposits and we have to account for every dollar we collect and write what it is for...this takes some time. :)Thanks for understanding and let me know if yall need anything. We are going to the Nashville store again soon to pick up more badges. See ya Monday night at 6 (rescue squad).

IT'S COOKIE TIME AGAIN!!!!
Mrs. Christie will be at church on the 21st at 6pm. Please come by and pick up your cookie packet and get all the info on cookies. We are very excited to sell this year because this is how we get money to fund meetings, badges, trip expenses and more. They also support local camps and girl scout programs. Please be there promptly at 6 so she will only have to go over one time. Thanks!!! See ya there.

Disney On Ice presents Celebrations! Enjoy a winter wonderland with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a Halloween haunt with the Disney Villains and a Royal Ball with the Disney Princesses. Special Girl Scout group tickets (minimum group order: 10 tickets) will be available at $13 each for the 7 p.m. October 2 . Each girl will also receive a free patch. Refer to flyer for more information. Deadline to order: September 23, 2009.

COOKOUT

Hey Everyone!!
School is finally out. Friday night is time to celebrate with a Girl Scout Family Cookout. Bring the whole crew (mom and dad too), We will be meeting at Cornerstone at 6pm for Hamburgers, Hot dogs and FUN!!! Wear clothes that you wouldn't mind getting wet and come ready to party!!!
Things to bring:
bathing suit
towel
bug spray ( i will have some too if you forget)
camping chair or sit a pon (mom and dad's be sure to bring one too)
Side dish , drink, or dessert ( we will furnish the meat, buns, and fixins)
We can't wait to see you there!!!!!!!

Summer is upon us!

There are tons of activities here and there planned for this summer! Please remember to check back regularly to make sure that nothing has changed.

May 4th- Regular meeting (healthy habits for Brownies and Daisies something similar for others)

May 18th- Regular meeting Craft night (painting...we will need ribbons and any paints that you may have to donate)

May???- Waiting to hear from Girl Scouts about camping at Sycamore Hills

June 5th- Family Cookout and Spring Registrations 6pm (Potluck Style... we will supply meat and drinks)

July 14th- 4pm thru 6pm Swimming at the Gilley Pool (parents must stay! for girls 12 and under)

August- This month OFF...Back to School

Hey Guys!

We truly missed everyone who couldn't go with us on the camping trip. Hope that you can go next time!!At last nights meeting we explored different science experiments that you can do in your own home. We did gases(blowing up a balloon using home made gases), recycled paper, home made bubbles, light and colors, home made SLIME!, fingerprints, and we also made home made crystals and whew!!!.....we were tired after it was over.

Thanks also to those who helped with the chaos!!!! We love our mommys and daddys.

Our next get together will be on April 17th for the sleep over at the Cornerstone Annex. (it is the house across the street on the back side of the church)-6pm bring pjs, sleeping bag, a cuddly(if needed), pillow, toothbrush, change of clothes.

We will be having pizza, popcorn and watching a movie. The girls should be ready for pick up by 9:30am the next morning.

Our next regularly scheduled meeting is scheduled for April 20th at 6pm. See you soon!!!

Camping Trip

Items you may need to bring will be in the email that I send out today. We will meet at Cornerstone at 4pm that day to leave (on the 3rd of April).

I still need payment from several people. If you haven't paid...please get the money to me by the 20th or a parent may want the girls spot.

Meeting March 2

Hey everyone!

We already have Girl Scouts planned for tonight and one of the Mom's had planned a lesson. SO, we will still have the meeting tonight!
We will be at Cornerstone at 6pm. The brownies will also be earning 2 badges tonight. It is perfectly fine if you are not able to attend, but we hope to see you there.

PS- The entire Troop will have a camping trip on April the 3rd (friday night).
We will be leaving the church at 4pm.
We are limited to 6 adults- Leaders and Daisy moms will have the first chance to sign up for the adult bunks, then it wll be open to the others.
The troop will be paying for camp. We are only asking for $5 for food expenses for the meals and snacks.

COOKIES!

Please email or call Christie K. if you need to pick up cookies still. She also has extras if anyone needs them. Please also tell her a big thank you for doing this for years in a row!!! We appreciate her tremendously!!

Our next meeting once again falls on a NO SCHOOL DAY. After much deliberation. Melody and I think that we need to meet. We have lots of stuff coming up and things are piling up. Our plans for this next meeting is to TYE DYE shirts so that we can all have matching shirts. YEAH!!!! I am excited. We will definately need some mommas this night to help us out. The troop will be buying all the supplies, all we ask is for you to bring a white shirt. Preferably 100% cotton. I am recommending t-shirts so that they can be worn year around. If you would like to make one for yourself, that is fine too. I went yesterday in Big Lots and they had Fruit of the Loom white T's over by the under garments for $2.00 in most sizes. Walmart, Penneys, Goodys, Oldnavy, and Gap also carry plain white shirts. I you need assistance and can't afford shirts for your girl(s), please call me and let me know. We will be glad to help out. These will be wonderful for group outings, camp, etc. Once they are finished, we will have a LOGO or something to put on them and all the girls can sign the backs.

So our next meeting will be at Cornerstone, 6pm on the 16th. If you can't attend but would like a shirt, get it to me before hand and I can tye dye for you. I would like all the girls to have one it also goes towards badge work of "art to wear".

MEETING

Whew!!! We have really missed you all. We were so busy in Dec. with the meetings, food drive, toy drive and Christmas in the Park that we really needed a little break, but it seems like every Girl Scout night was landing on a NO-School day!!! Yikes!! A whole month off was a little too much.
Melody and I have been working on a camping trip and some other stuff so be sure to join us tomorrow night. Mrs. Christie should also be there if you have any cookie questions. All of the cookies should be in this next coming week!!!! YEAH!!!
We will be at the church by 5:45. so come early so we can get started on time. We have alot to talk about and we need some numbers on those that attended all the extra get togethers in December like the toy drive so that we can get badges for all those events. My memory is not that good. LOL!

Cookie Sales are starting up!

Mrs. Christie has all of the required training and the cookie forms are here! As soon as we get them in our hands I will be sending out an email for a time for everyone to swing by to get theirs. Please keep checking your email. I want to get these out as soon as possible. Remember, cookies are our way of not moneying you to death throughout the year... Plus they are just yummy!!!

Also remember that when school is out...we do not meet. I had several call me to ask. This is our kids' break, so as soon as school starts up, we will too.

Thanks to everyone who was able to go to Christmas in the Park, the Food Drive, and also those who helped pack toys for the less fortunate. Great Job!! I will have a sheet at the next meeting for you to sign which ones that you attended with us and I will be getting patches for each one of those activities.

Canned Food Drive

It's time for the council wide canned food drive tomorrow night. Here is the info:
We will be meeting at Newtown Foodland
at 4 o clock pm.

Please dress warm !!!
Afterwards there was supposed to be a bonfire. The bonfire may be cancelled because of the recent rain. The lady over it said that the field that she had intended to use is flooded. At 5pm when our shift is over, we will travel to McDonalds for hot chocolate instead.....our treat!!!

Hey Girls!!!

This week we will be doing the "girl scout ways" badge as an intro for the Brownies. The Juniors will be completing a badge on another project as well. Cadettes will be talking with Mrs. Melody about The Silver Awards and how the Cadettes will be earning their badges this year. Mrs. Kim will of course have the Daisies and work on another petal!!

Please try to be there by 6pm at Cornerstone.

Upcoming dates to remember:

Nov. 22 at 5pm we will be meeting at the First United Methodist Church for a Celebration for Juliette Gordon Low. Please wear your vests this night.

Dec. 2 will be Christmas in the Park downtown. We will be meeting there to enjoy the night together. There is always refreshments and performances.

Dec. 12 from 4-8pm we will be caroling at a local grocery store to collect canned goods as customers go in and out. Afterwards there will be a bonfire and smores to celebrate our hard work (and to warm up. LOL!!)
